Executive Assistant to the VP of Development & Marketing


POSITION
Summary:
Guest House, Inc., a nonprofit residential addiction treatment center for Catholic priests, men and women religious, located in Lake Orion, Michigan, is seeking an Executive Assistant. This person will serve as the principal administrative support to the Vice President of Development including: projects, events, initiatives, and programs. The person in this position performs a variety of moderate to complex administrative and office functions and provides coordination and some technical support for the development office. This position involves extensive contact with volunteers, high-level donors, board members and leadership at all levels within the Catholic Church.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
o A primary function of this position will be to support and help with coordination of a Comprehensive Campaign.
o Provides administrative support to the Vice President, including drafting and managing correspondences, memoranda, gift proposals and reports as needed; scheduling appointments and managing the Vice President's calendar, coordinating travel arrangements, maintenance of donor and prospective donor data in the development database, project management, and coordination of events and special projects.
o Assists with creating and preparing PowerPoint presentations and other proposals as required.
o Makes arrangements for prospects, donors, and community members touring or visiting Guest House.
o Conducts research and gathers all necessary information for the Vice President prior to meeting and events.
o Coordinates committee meetings, prepares agenda, and organizes and tracks agenda items.
o Oversees the proper processing of all donor gift agreements and pledge forms in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
o Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and to interact professionally and comfortably with donors, prospects, and friends at all levels
o The successful candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines with an excellent attention to detail.
o Experience and expertise in MS Office, internet and web-based applications.
o Ability to work independently and be self-directed, while also able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
o Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of Guest House.
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
o Experience in development/fundraising required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
